Another customer of mine (Robert) collects crystal radios. He has a Adams Morgan antique crystal radio set that consists of the units designed by Paul
Forman Godley. A Paragon 10-R RF AMP, RA-10 tuner and DA-2 audio amplifier.
Because the RF-Amplifier is a very old tube set and parts not readily available he purchased one of my RF per-amplifiers to save wear and tear on his tube amplifier. He says it works good with the tuner detector unit. After he found out I will no longer be making the RF-Amplifiers he purchased my last one as a backup.
Here are some pictures of the units. He says they are not restored or the lettering repainted.
Here is inside view of a RA-10 showing the variometer and tuning coils. This is from a website as he says his still has the factory seal on the case.

Below is a picture of both units. He say lots of fun to operate because of all the knobs and adjustments.
Here is the email he sent me.
The RA-10 and DA-2 are both original and in full working condition (see
photo labeled Adams Morgan.jpg)
I also have the Paragon 10-R RF AMP, in my collection (no photo yet)
When all three units are in cascade -- the performance is impressive -- and
the sets are fun to use because there are lots of knobs to twiddle and
combinations to try out
The inside view I provided of the RA-10 (RA-10.jpg) comes from another set
from the same time period (set is an exact copy of the RA-10 in the photo
labeled Adams Morgan).
I have not included a photo of the insides of the RA-10 -- depicted in the
photo labeled Adams Morgan.jpg -- because the original factory seal is still
intact on that set (case never opened and chassis removed)
The RA-10 and DA-2 panel lettering is original, not re-whitened
All electrical components are original and the wiring remains unaltered
The cabinets have their original finish. (They have benefited from a wood
treatment product that compensates for wood dryness but does not remove the
original finish -- it just softens and cleans the finish up a bit, thereby
restoring some of the original luster)
Collecting antique Radios is probably one of the more serious addictions
I do need to get good photos of all sets in my collection -- its on my list
of things to do

The DA-2 uses three tube stages: (1) detector, (2) 1st audio AMP, and (3)
2nd audio AMP
The RA-10 will function as a crystal set by using a diode (chunk of Galena,
1N34A, etc.) as detector along with high impedance headset (2000 ohms)
The DA-2 can work in REGEN mode, by incorporating the vario mounted on the
RD-10 board into tube-based-detector plate circuit (Armstrong REGEN)
Paragon also made a Type-10R RF AMP unit to go in front of the RA-10 (photo
available via internet)
The Type-10R RF AMP and your RF AMP perform the same basic function

As an old EE and
Radio enthusiast I recommend using a good pre-AMP, like
yours
The AMP is a great
test-bed resource and adds greatly to the fun of station listening in
general
(I support the
argument: if its okay to amplify the audio, why not amplify the incoming RF,
once your design is finalized and performance base-lined, as that is
where the best results are gained)
(Also, how do you
know how much your design has improved if you can't first tune for the very weak
stations you are ultimately trying to hear)
By the way,
I have been using your AMP along with a 1920 Adams-Morgan Paragon RA-10
tuner
The RA-10 was
designed by Paul
Forman Godley and is a work of high creativity
I am frequently
amazed at the ingenuity and creativity of the designers that lived during the
early days of Radio
If the assembled
version of your AMP is soon to become un-available let me know and I will buy
another now, as spare
